Love Addiction

How to identify possible symptoms of love addiction

Love addicts spend much time and effort on a person to whom they are addicted. They value the person above themselves, and their focus on the beloved other often is obsessive.  By their behaviour, love addicts neglect to care for themselves in a variety of ways, in essence abandoning important aspects of themselves and well being to stay connected to the object of their affections.

Having a few healthy boundaries, we become sexually involved with and / or emotionally attached to people without really knowing them.

Fearing abandonment and loneliness, we stay or return to painful destructive relationships; concealing our dependency needs from ourselves and others, and growing more isolated and alienated from ourselves, and others.

We become immobilised or distracted by romantic and sexual obsessions or fantasies.

We attach ourselves to others that are emotionally unavailable.
